top ten Power Forwards of all time

The best Power Forward of all time… there are many great candidates from many different eras and they way to judge would be so hard, you could go on individual success (stats awards etc.) players like Karl Malone and or you could do it on winning and success of the team they were in, then the top of that list become McHale, Tim Duncan and Dennis Rodman all of whom have been very successful, however I have made my list of the top few PFs on a mixture of both success in stats and success in play offs and regular season. The other problem is distinguishing a PF from the C because of the lack of height many of the larger forwards ended up playing center.

NO.10 Dirk Nowitzki,
Dirk is one of the better shooters of all time, his name is often compared to greats like Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. Dirk over his career he has averages of 22.4 points a game, along with 8.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists a game defensively he averages just less than a steal and one block a game. Dirk shots efficiently with 47 percent from the field and 38% from beyond the arch he is also a very successful line shooter, at 87% from the line (he has his routine in which he hums whilst taking his shot) Dirk has won an MVP, and in the same season(06-07) his Dallas mavericks won 67 games, He has been selected to seven All Star teams, and he has been selected to eight All-NBA teams, with three of them as a first-team member. He is also the first and only player from Europe to win an MVP. His style is more of finesse than brute and strength you seem him do some really good mid range jumpers do open up his inside game, as many bigger men struggle with guarding a player with his permitter abilities.

NO.9 Dave Debusschere
Dave was one of the first super Power forwards nicknames “D” and “BIG D” which stood for defence, he was an amazing player with unreal hustle and determination definitely in his times top handful of defenders. In 1996 he was recognised at being in the top 50 players of all time and is unlucky not to be higher on this list. Everyone who ever came up against would leave bruised, he is one of the most physical players of all time. He was never afraid of trading elbows and really fighting for a rebound or lose ball. He was also known for his Amazing Defensive skills, which helped earn his nicknames, he made the All Defensive 1st team 6 times. In his career he averaged a solid 16.1 points and 11 rebounds a game as well as getting 3 assists and shooting 43.2% from the field. A player like him in more recent times was Dennis Rodman, however Dennis didn’t have nearly the same offensive game as Dave. His style of play almost the opposite of Dirk’s as Dave would power it home more often.

NO.8 Dennis Rodman
Dennis “the bully worm” Rodman was much shorter than his adversaries standing at just a drink shorter than 6’8, he was known for his rebounding and “bad boy” antics, he was a member of the pistons in their Bad boy era and was never one to back down he fought the admiral Robinson, Karl Malone, Shaq, two officials, a camera man(less of a fight more of a beat down) and many many more. He is one of the best rebounders of all time leading the league in rebounds 7 times (1992–1998) he was also a 7 time NBA All-Defensive First Team, a 2 time NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1990, 1991) , a 2 time All-Star (1990, 1992), 2time All-NBA Third Team Selection (1992, 1995) and most impressively 5time NBA Champion (1989, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998) a player that wins so many individual awards as well as being a champ 5 times should really be higher on the list no matter what sort of a team he was on. He had career averages of 7.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, along with a very good 52.1 percent from the field. A very impressive career when you think about when he was getting around 18 rebounds its pretty amazing for one man to grab so many rebounds, its good for a big man to pull down 11 boards but, Rodman was one of those guys who would jump 2-3 times for one rebound, played harder than anyone I have ever seen he hustled when the ball was lose and he banged with the best of them when the rebound was contested, the reason he could do these things was because he had desire for the ball and spectacular athleticism. He also has a CCW Heavyweight Champion(he is a semi-pro wrestler) which he got in 2008.

NO.7 Charles Barkley
Nick named sir Charles and the round mound of rebound, he was nick named the round mound of rebound because of his bulky build despite being shorter than most other Power Forwards he would almost definitely be as strong, he was very good at beating different types of opponents, being faster than most other Fs/Cs and stronger than the PF/SF which made him a major weapon at scoring. He was probably the only power forward that was capable of leading a fast break and was a powerful leaper a 39-inch vertical leap in his prime of his athleticism despite his heavyweight. He was the NBA’s MVP in 1993 he was an a NBA All-star 11 times 87-97, 5 time 1st team,5 time 2nd team and one time 3rd team. 1 time NBA All-Star Game MVP 1991 he was also 1984 SEC Player of the Year and 1980's SEC Player of the Decade. He was one of the more exciting players of all time, a great shooter, he shot a tremendous 54.1 from the field and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line. Standing at 6’4 he was a solid defender with some insane rebounding and scoring numbers another one of those power house players however he had a great finesse game as well.

NO.6 Elvin Hayes
Hayes Who I believe is one of the most underrated players of all time, was a superstar in his own right, named top in the top 50 players of all time in 1996, he made the 1st 3 times the 2nd team 2 times and the all rookie team. Both his college and his NBA team retired his jerseys and of course a 12 time NBA all star and 1 time champ. Over his career he had over 27,000 points, over 16,000 points and over 1750 blocks, a very accomplished player, he was also as tough as nails and wouldn’t let injuries stop him, he never missed more than two games a season this is crazy because he player 16 seasons. A big man at 6’9 and 235 Pounds a beast for the boards and was half of one of the better Duos of all time, him and Wes Unseld. Elvin has the 6th most points of all time he led the league in scoring in 1968 and the 4th most rebounds of all time he led the league in rebounds in 1970 and 1974

NO.5 Kevin McHale
McHale was a key member of the three championship Celtics teams in the 1980s, a real star however he did shine next to Parish and Bird. In his 13 year career(all of which were with the Celtics) he won three championships and scored 17,335, I think he I one of the best down low shooters the league has ever, like a much better version of Dirk with a defensive game as well. He was a 7 time all star, only a 1 time first team, 3 time defensive 1st team, 3 time defensive 2nd team, 2 sixth man of the year awards and was named into the top 50 players of all time.

NO.4 Kevin Garnett
A very versatile player, can play anyone of the three big men position but, spends almost all his time at PF, he has balance and vision like a G his knowledge of whats going to happen, he reads the game very well and this makes him a very worth while player, especially on the defensive end, he, like many of the players on this list, has lots of awards. He has just acquired his NBA champion status, 11 time all star, MVP in 2004, best defensive player 2008, all NBA 1st team 4 times, and NBA 2nd team 3 times, all nba 3rd 2 times, all defensive 1st team 7 times, all defensive 2nd team 2 times and an NBA all star game MVP.KG is unstoppable one of the best defenders and still incredibly successful on the offensive end as well, he can power it home or he can beat them for speed, he picks out weaknesses and exploits them, a sign of a truly versatile player. He is also the all-time leader in NBA seasons played with averages of at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. So far, in 13 seasons, he has career averages of 20.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. He has also shot a 49.4 percent from the field and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line.

NO.3 Bob Pettit
one of the most awarded players in NBA history, he has all rookie team, rookie of the year, 4 NBA all star MVPs, 2 NBA MVPs, the all time teams from, 25th year,35th year, and the all time team 50th year, 10 times 1st team, 1 2nd team, NBA all star 11 times, and 2 times scoring champion. Formerly a SF in college played a fair bit of overall F and is debateable that he shouldn’t be on this list. Despite being a super star he never got a title. He was more to out stepping his opponents as to walking in and fighting for position another better version of a scoring rebounding F with the great shooting and even better moves (better rebounding) he could score at will. Pettit was one of the first dominant big men in the league. He had career averages of 26.4 points, 16.2 rebounds and 3 assists along with 43.6 percent from the field and 76.1 percent from the free throw line.

NO.2 Karl Malone
In terms of statistics, Malone should be No. 1 on this list. However, he wasn't clutch or a winner. He had career averages of 25 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks. He also shot 51.6 percent from the field and 74.2 percent from the free-throw line. He also ranks second all-time in total points, as he is only behind Kareem. In his career which went over he was selected to the All-Star team 14 times, and he was selected to the All NBA team 14 times, with 11 of the selections as a member of the first team. He also won two All-Star Game MVPs and two regular MVP awards. However, he never won a ring as, he could never lead the Jazz to a title. He was a big banger built like a brick big body and as strong as an ox.

NO.1 Tim Duncan
Tim Duncan is here at NO.1 for a lot of reasons, mainly the 4 rings but another stat that is very impressive is that in his 11 season career he has only been out of the top 5 MVP runners once and he has never in his 11 season career not been in the top 10. he has career averages of 21.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 0.8 steals. He has also shot 50.8 percent from the field and 68.4 percent from the free-throw line. He is in my top 10 clutch players of all time and my top ten players of all time. He has been selected to 10 All-Star teams, and he has also won an All-Star Game MVP in 2000. Duncan has also been selected to the All-NBA team 11 times, with nine of the selections as a member of the first team. He was also selected to the All NBA Defensive team nine times, with seven of the selections as a member of the first team. He also won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1998, and he won back to back MVP awards in the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons. He is also one of the most winningness players of all time and he is so clutch he has won 3 finals MVPs.

That concludes my list. Feel free to debate it

the top 5 games of the week

Thursday 25th December 2008: New Orleans (16-7) @ Orlando (21-6)

New Orleans
New Orleans has quietly gone about their business. While everybody is talking about the Lake Show, Cavs, Celts, LeBron and DWade, New Orleans has won 11 of their last 13 and 4 in a row. Chris Paul is playing MVP competitor ball again, and the team do not need to worry when their bench comes on. Antonio Daniels, Posey, Hilton Armstrong and Sean Marks are all doing a fantastic job and are playing very well from the bench. Everybody is contributing, and COY Byron Scott must be loving it.

"I like the fact that we've crept up and nobody is really talking about it. Everybody is talking about the Lakers and the Celtics and the Cavaliers." ~Byron Scott

Orlando
After wins against the Blazers, Jazz, Spurs and Lakers, in the past week or so, you would expect the entire NBA community to be buzzing over the Magic and their success. Again, they really don't seem to get the same coverage as the Lakers, Celtics or Cavaliers. At least this season the NBA knows they are right there though. As usual the big 3 are playing out of their skin and playing fantastic basketball. Not just that, but Jameer Nelson is playing some real quality basketball and has stepped his game up a notch since seasons past. The bench is starting to contribute quite well as well. Pietrus, Battie and even little known Gortat are playing better than usual off the bench. Battie gives that impact that they didn't have last season. A player that won't have Magic fans sweating nearly as profusely when Dwight takes a break.

"We feed off of that flying-under-the-radar stuff. It feeds our fire. Keep pouring gasoline on the fire. It's going to keep flaming up." ~Rashard Lewis

Prediction
These two teams are under-the-radar on a relative level compared with the buzz following Boston, Los Angeles and Cleveland. It should all come together for a Christmas day battle that will be great to watch. Orlando is coming off a streak of wins against top teams and has an 11-3 record at home. New Orleans is also red-hot winning 11 of their last 13. This game should be a cracker, in a close one I have to go with the home team -- Orlando. I wouldn't be surprised no matter which way this one goes, will be a great game either way.

Monday 22nd December 2008: Portland (17-10) @ Denver (17-10)
Tuesday 23rd December 2008: Denver (17-10) @ Portland (17-10)

Portland
Before the season started many predicted that Portland would build on their .500 record from last season and continue to improve. But Portland has emerged as a top team in the West. They have turned the Northwest Division from the weakest division, to one of the most competitive. They have 5 rookes - Batum, Rodriguez, Bayless, Oden and Fernandez - and they are all playing quite well. This team is very young, but they have the pure talent and ability to go along with it. The rise and rise of Portland is a great story for the NBA and has unveiled a future face of the league in Brandon Roy.

"These are huge games for us, even though they're early in the season. We'd love to sweep them, and we can't afford to get swept." ~Brandon Roy

Denver
Chauncey Billups has been like a God-send for Denver. But that hasn't stopped them from losing their last three games against top teams. They lost by 12 on the road to Houston, got thumped by Cleveland at home and lost on the road to Phoenix. Denver could have been 19-8, had they gone 2-1 on that tough strech. That would have them with the elite teams and in the West two wins could make the difference between 5th and 6th seed, or 2nd and 3rd seed. These two games, while very early in the season, could turn out to be very important. Right now if one team wins both they will take the lead in the division as well.

"We're beating ourselves a little bit," ~ George Karl (On his team having 20 turnovers.)

Prediction
Nothing like a divisional home and away back-to-back matchup. Both teams will look to make their home ground their fortress. In the first game Denver will be back at home and look to make amends for their past losses. Denver matches up quite well against Portland, with Billups against Blake and Anthony against Batum. Portland also has Roy up against Jones. I can really see the impact of the stars and the big men deciding the games. A big defensive game from Nene could turn it, or possibly a huge game from Aldridge could swing it Portland's way. For the first game, I am going Denvers way. Back at home, I think they can turn it around, even against a very hot Portland team. For the second game, I think Portland will have a healthy win against Denver. It is their home ground, the teams are close. I can see Denver potentially losing two in a row, but not Portland, not at this stage.

Thursday 25th December 2008: Boston (26-2) @ Los Angeles (21-5)

Boston
Yes, everyone has been talking about how good they are playing and how they can repeat etc etc. But I haven't really seen anyone talking about the fact that they have won 18 games in a row. It was only last season Houston set the 2nd longest win streak in NBA History, and Boston are at 18 now. But they face a road trip, after the Lakers game they play Sacramento, Golden State and Portland.

"We won the championship, so we've got a big target on our back." ~Paul Pierce

Los Angeles
This team has so many options, you know that when Kobe Bryant isn't having the same impact he
had on the stat sheet from last seasons. He still has a huge impact though, and one of the reasons the Lakers are a top team is because of Kobe. Jordan Farmar is injured, which will force Derek Fisher to play a heap more minutes -- which isn't the worst thing, because he has been playing very well. You know what I'd like to see if one team is winning by a lot, is for Sun Yue to get some minutes -- just for the sheer hell of it. Against the Magic Andrew Bynum was in a key matchup against Dwight Howard, but once again he fouled a bit too much in the early stages of the game and failed to have a huge impact.

"They're not the same at all. Dwight's a big guy in size, but he's not Shaq. Shaq is a mountain. I'm not saying that Howard's a molehill, but he's not a mountain." ~Phil Jackson (Comparing Dwight to Shaq.)

Prediction
Boston has won 18 in a row. They are the defending champions and they are playing better right now. Los Angeles have had tough losses to Orlando and Miami and play New Orleans before this game, but if anybody can rally them back it is the Zen Master. But I can't go past Boston in this one. No question that this finals rematch should make for a brilliant game.

Friday 26th December 2008: Houston (18-9) @ New Orleans (16-7)

New Orleans
New Orleans holds a slim lead in the division, and face a very tough week of Lakers, Magic and Rockets. Past this week though, they have Indiana, Washington then a tough road trip against Portland, Denver, Lakers and Utah. So in their next 9 games, they will play 7 of the leagues best. In the tough western conference this could make a huge difference. I really feel for this Hornets team, this is an incredibly tough schedule. I think a huge factor as to how they will get through these games is how quickly Antonio Daniels can completely develop his feel for the Hornets offense. If the second unit can play better than ever, and the starters continue to play well, I think this Hornets team could go .500 through this strech, and that would be absolutely fine.

"The West is what it is, you have nine teams that are very good, and just like last year, somebody's going to win 50 games and not make (the playoffs). We're going to continue to knock each other off all season." ~Byron Scott

Houston
The Rockets always seem to have somebody injured -- I would imagine that that would get rather annoying if I were a fan. Nonetheless, the team still plays very competitive basketball. They are still a top team in the West and I think they will stay a top team even if one of their big 3 suffers a major injury. Tracy McGrady is playing well, Yao Ming and Ron Artest are great in support. The bench and role players are playing very well. They have great depth and a good squad. If they play to their potential they are capable of anything, even winning the Championship.

"I felt like, 'OK, my heart is back in my chest instead of up here (in the throat).'" ~Yao Ming (On his game-winning shot.)

Prediction
Houston has had a strech of games close together, but now they are rested. While New Orleans play at Orlando the night before. Chris Paul and New Orleans are a tough side, and they are at home. While Houston seems to lose focus in some games, and are on the road still. So I will go with New Orleans. Their are plenty of reasons both sides could lose and this is a tough game to decide. It could go either way.

Sunday 28th December 2008: Miami (14-12) @ Cleveland (23-4)

Miami
Dwyane Wade is leading his team to a respectable record, and they could potentially earn a playoff spot. Though it is early days yet, DWade is a frontrunner for MVP but will have to get past LeBron for the title. Wade has a good supporting player in Marion, but he doesn't really fit their system, and Haslem and Chalmers aren't exactly the best options in the world. So having a record just above .500 is very respectable.

"The lesson we learned was our defense really closed the game for us." ~Erik Spoelstra

Cleveland
Cleveland are undefeated at home. Their home record stands at 13-0. LeBron James continues to dominate opposition and is the leader for MVP at the moment. Cleveland are among the leagues elite, yet I question whether they can really beat the Lakers or the Celtics in a seven game series. The fact that they are a top side well remain to give their fans the very small hope that LeBron may choose to stay with them beyond 2010. Though unless they actually win a championship, LeBron most likely still plans to leave.

"He's leading his team the right way." ~Mike Brown (On LeBron.)

Prediction
I'm not sure if this game will be overly competitive. But the Heat did win against the Lakers. I can't see Cleveland losing at the moment though. This game is here because it features Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. I can't wait to see those two matched up against eachother.

who will be this years scoring champ?(mitch's say)

There are 5 main candidates at the moment, they are:
Lebron James (absolute freak)
Stephen Marbury (show timer from way back)
Devin Harris (came out and improved and has grown as a player)
Kobe Bryant (some say the best of the current time)
My order goes as
Lebron James(close)from below
Dwayne Wade(close) from both up and down
Kobe Bryant (close) from above but a little breathing room from below
Devin Harris a little breathing room from
Marbury and or other

Dwight Howard

found from his blog.
My birthday
On my birthday we had a game so it was tough to really want to celebrate it. Me and a few of my teammates chilled and watched the fight. We played and I almost had 23 points and 23 rebounds, which would have been real tight! Before the game I was thinking to myself like that would be tight if I could get 23 and 23 and then the game came around and I almost had it! I came so close! The Clippers' fans in L.A. were really cool, though, I had a lot of fun on my birthday. It was something I'll never forget. The fans are great in every city and I love interacting with them, talking to them and just getting to know them for the little time that we have to get to know them.
Greatest. Dunk Attempt. Ever. … But I missed it!

But I think the highlight of my whole birthday game was when I tried to go up and dunk on Zach Randolph. I got the picture off the internet of that dunk attempt and it was tight! It was, like, one of the best dunk attempts ever and I wish I would've made it. I tried to go up and dunk on him and it had to be the world's greatest dunk attempt - ever. But I missed it! I missed the dunk but the dunk attempt was nasty. It kind of looked like the Superman dunk but better because it would have been over someone!

he talks of his "sore knee"
My injury's nothing serious, nothing people should be worried about. I fell on my knee in Phoenix and I kind of bruised it, so I met with the doctors and they all talked and they basically just said to ice and try not to get hit anymore. They said it was a bruised knee and I guess I just needed some rest. I've been going hard for five years, just nonstop, so it was actually good to rest. I should be back tomorrow, though, so that's good. Was I scared a little bit? Yeah, only because I feel like the season is going really well and I've been accomplishing all the goals I had set for the season. It started off well and I just would have felt bad if anything had happened.

His work with the community

Giving back for the holidays
The event I had yesterday was at this place called the Christian Center and we met up and what I did was bought 100 families a $100 gift card to a grocery store and 100 survival kits with like everything in it, toothbrushes, sleeping bags, flashlights, anything that you might need for the Christmas holidays was in this bag. Also, the kids all got little presents that were at the center and it was just a great experience. I met a lot of families and it just really impressed me that I could help out so many people. There are a lot of people in need and anything helps -- a hug, or whatever I could give. We athletes are so blessed with a lot of different things and it's always good to be able to give back to others. It just feels so good. To me it's better than doing a dunk or blocking somebody's shot. Just seeing the kids happy and seeing their parents be able to provide for their kids is worth it. There are so many parents that can't provide and I was happy to be able to give a helping hand.

Double-Doubles for a good cause
I don't know if a lot of people know this, but one of the reasons I try so hard to get a double-double every night is because I hooked up with Doublemint gum and PCA, which is Prevent Child Abuse America. So every time I get a double-double $250 goes to PCA to help prevent child abuse. It's a really good foundation to be involved with, so if anybody wants to be involved with the cause they can go to their Web site - www.preventchildabuse.org - and find out more. Every time I get a double-double it's to help the kids, so I try to get it every night, as quick as I can! All for the kids!

T MAC

T mac is said to be out for a week after an evaluation by the teams doctor not only this the Rockets will also be with out Brent Barry, and many people believe that Ron artest is hogging the ball, the team is full of problems and will struggle keeping everybody happy including fans, Ron artest is a good player but, seems to believe in his own abilities so much that he would rather take a contested shot than kick it out to an open team mate, its either that or he doesn't think his team mates can do it. With all these problems circulating the locker room i don't see how they will be able to have any success on the court.
i think they will get beat by the clippers this Wednesday.

match review

match review
Orlando Play Boston,
Boston were the favorites and rightfully so, they were the better team for the most part, their point guard rajon Rondo known mainly for his defending had an out standing game 16 points 12 assists 4 rebounds an a steal, he seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. Rondo had some good scorers around him, Paul pierce scored 24 and had a monstrous 3rd quarter with 17 points helping his team maintain a lead(the lead was 2 going into the third). despite great efforts from Reggie Lewis and Dwight Howard they were unable to effect the more composed Boston team as they held on in the 4th to win by 19, most of this win came from outlasting their opponents as they scored 59-32 in the 2nd half. statiscal leaders from both teams were:
points Orlando, Reggie Lewis 30
points Boston, Paul Pierce 24
rebounds Orlando, Dwight Howard 15
rebounds Boston, Kendrick Perkins 13
assists Orlando, Heidu Turkoglu 4
assists Boston, Rajon Rondo 12
blocks Orlando, Dwight Howard 4
blocks Boston, Kendrick Perkins 1
steals Orlando, Anthony Johnson 2
steals Boston, Rajon Rondo 1

awards NBA,

MVP race,
my top 4 candidates as of december 1st,
1. Lebron James, he has a player efficiency rating of 32.9, and he scores 29.1 points a game, if they did it today i think that Lebron would win unanimously.
2.Kobe Bryant, 25 points,5 rebounds and 5 assists and he has lead his team to top mark in the league, in most years his stats would put him at number one but, look at Lebron.
3.Chris Paul, 32.8 player efficiency rating. He is averaging 12.2 assists and 20.5 points he is also putting up reasonable MVP numbers but, Lebron is way in front.
4.Dwight Howard, He is top 20 in points (17th), shooting (seventh), double-doubles (second), blocks (first) and rebounds (second) and is the only player big enough and cool enough to take Shaq's Superman nickname. 13.4 rebounds 20.9 points and 4.1 blocks which is amazing and outstanding effort he probably won't be able to steal lebron's MVP but, defensive player of the year is a good chance.
defensive player of the year
top 4,
1.Dwight Howard, He blocked six shots on Monday, a total that's so routine for him that it's barely mentioned anymore. he leads blocks is 2nd in rebounds, and i can't see anyone taking it away from him, a clear favorite.
2.Dwayne Wade, Only player in the league who is top 10 in steals and blocks, he isn't the biggest man but, his closing speed and athleticism lets him jump up and block shots with ease.
3.Kevin garnet (tied with artest.) averaging 1.12 steals a game and 1.5 blocks is good enough to be in the top 5 count when compleded with his rebounding(8.5 a game) but i don't think he will be able to be a chance for the award with these numbers.
3.Ron Artest (tied with Garnet.) half a block, 1.9 steals and6.3 rebounds gets him here, but no further.
4.Andri kirilenko. should be higher averaging 1 and half blocks and steals, also the favorite for the sixth man award.
rookie of the year,
1.derrick Rose, awesome Point guard, good defensivly and also great at the the little things, hustling and all that.
2.Greg Oden, getting better with everygame.
3.O.J Mayo, scoring like crazy going to be very good this season and many more to come.
4. Micheal Beasly, with coach of the year favorite coaching him and sticking to his defensive game, he could go places fast.

NBA and such

Marion, Heat and the trades
the heat have recently said they want to trade 4 time all star Shawn Marion, he is earning 17.8 MIL on the final season of his contract and i feel that he is getting over paid for his output.

Hawes or Oden(right now)
i personally love oden and hawes so its like picking a favorite child.
i feel as though Oden can light it up but, his injuries are holding him back and hurting his consistence, some days he could put up a strong double double and have 2-5 blocks, others he will have a game where he has 5 shots makes one pulls in 6 rebounds and can't get anything going, for the minutes he is playing he needs to be puting up some good numbers.
Hawes is one of the best young big men to play right now as is oden but, Hawes is playing more minutes and playing well, i feel oden will start putting up 3 blocks every game soon he is that good, hawes could do that but is less likely, they are very close stats wise both shoot a very high percentage and get a fair few rebounds but i feel u give oden 2/10s more game time to be the same amount as hawes,
Oden will have more rebounds(he already does)
almost the same amount of points,
same amount of blocks,
and more assists,
Well lets compare stats.
Hawes is .497%FG/ 1.9 Blk/ 2.0 TO/ 7.1 rpg/ 1.5 ast/ 12.4 ppg with 28.7 minutes pg
Oden is .509%FG/ 1.5 Blk/ 1.7 TO/ 7.2 rpg/ 1.0 ast/ 7.8 ppg with 20.5 minutes pg
take your Pick and say what you will about mine,
ODEN for the win, as he is to good and he plays less minutes
however keep in mind it is so early in both their careers i can't really make a whole-hearted call on this one.

OKC, home and away record
i feel they will get 8-10 wins, i feel the change in coaching was a very wise decision, that coach had only ever been a assistant i would have rethread they got a college head coach to begin with, coming off a win against Memphis who have only won 4games and lost 13, leaving the Thunders record at 2-16

a rumour
There is a rumor according to krespinis.net that Carlos Arroyo(1.88-PG/SG) may leave Maccabi behind and return to the NBA. Arroyo seems to be a candidate for the Orlando Magic but he is still tied to a contract with Maccabi that won't just let him go without a compensation. i know he is a reasonable player and will be a good inquisition to
Orlando if they can work out a deal with Mccabi.

another ODEN comment,
just a awesome player and if he can stay up and going at 100% he can help
Portland dominate the West
"He's been trumpeted as the next Bill Russell.

Or the next Sam Bowie.

He's dominated in some moments, but has been dunked on and dissed" by Shaquille O'Neal.

coming from a distinguished player like shaq this is very true he is a streaky player and we will see if he can hold up and play the game as he did for Ohio state.

chris duhon, 22 assists,

he put up a franchise record with 22 assists which is crazy, he was dropping dimes and finding his team mates unbelievably well he used his great vision of the court and knowledge of basketball to lead his players to the right spots and find them. With this game he wasn't the only one breaking milestones and personal bests, David Lee had career highs in points (37) and rebounds (21) and became the first Knicks player with 30 points and 20 rebounds in a game since Patrick Ewing had 34 points and 25 rebounds on Feb. 23, 1997. which is a huge effort, also they had an 82 point first half as well as 2nd quarter with 43 points.

rookie rankings NBA,

1.Derek Rose, awesome Combo guard who has a lot of defensive qualities, putting up 18.4 points a game a steal and 5.8 assists.

2.O.J Mayo, super scorer and proved it against Utah scoring another good amount of points 23(10 from 10 from the line) he is averaging 22points a game.

3.micheal beasely, 6'8 forward pretty Showtime only 19 and his coach is teaching him well. He is only playing 28 minutes but, he is putting up good numbers, 5.4 rebounds and 14.4 points.

4. Rudy ferandez, interesting that he so high, good at scoring around 12 points a game.

5.Marc Gasol, big important player, 7.1 rebounds and 12.2 points, he is improving very well and i think he might turn out as a really influential player he is strong athletic and makes good moves for his team to get the bucket.

6.Athony Morrow, playing limited minutes putting up some good scoring numbers but what’s most impressive is he is 53.3% from beyond the arch, which is amazing.

7. Greg Oden, now that he has slimmed down he is going be more into the play as he will get to more shots, and get more blocks and contest them well, a good big man in the NBA can go along way.

8.jason Thomas, under rated early on is proving his critics wrong as he rebounds and scores with best of the young men, 6.5 rebounds and around 12points a game.

9.Brook Lopez, another big man,6.5 boards and 11points a game, he takes good shots and he always does the smart thing, seems composed and collected for a young fella yet to show me that he is worthy of top ten but, who knows i might be wrong.

10. george Hill, unlucky he isn't higher on the list. Shooting 1 from 3 from beyond the arch scoring a touch more than 11 a game, always and when i say always i mean always hurts his opponent when sagged off.
